| Welcome to the DES Media Center | Last Changed 2011-07-14 | | | | We are the educational hub at DES, supporting the whole process of teaching and learning at every grade level.

As one of the largest elementary libraries in the county, we are able to strongly support instruction with a variety of curriculum-related resources. We also provide an abundance of materials for enrichment, lifelong learning and professional development.
When you visit us, you will find that the DES Media Center is a comfortable, open and inviting place. We provide flexibly-scheduled instruction and collaboration with teachers, so you will often find the media specialist teaching classes or working with groups of students. You will see students and teachers comfortably seated on sofas, benches and chairs and reading books, magazines and newspapers. Individual students and whole classes visit us to browse for books or work in the Media computer lab.
We encourage interested parents to become media volunteers. Several of the duties for media volunteers include checking out materials, shelving returned items, assisting students and faculty with general media questions, and light clerical work. We really value our library friends! Please see Mr. Carey or call us at 770-277-4451 if you are interested in becoming a part of our DES Media Team.
